Designed for animals recovering from major surgeries such as total hip replacement, spinal surgery, cruciate surgery, or fracture stabilisation.

This is a structured, progressive program combining manual therapy, controlled exercise, and advanced rehabilitation techniques.

Why Physiotherapy:

Following major surgery, muscle inhibition often occurs as a protective mechanism — the body “switches off” certain muscles to prevent further injury. If not addressed, this can lead to muscle atrophy, joint stiffness, and altered movement patterns. Physiotherapy plays a critical role in restoring these functions and preventing post-operative complications.

What’s Included:

• 12 weeks of progressive sessions (typically weekly or fortnightly, adjusted to case)
• Manual therapy and neuromuscular re-education to restore correct movement patterns
• Laser therapy, acupuncture, dry needling or other treatments as indicated
• Strength and proprioception training (balance discs, wobble boards etc.)
• Home exercise reviews and updates every 3 weeks
• Final review and written progress report for your veterinary surgeon

Expected Outcomes:

Gradual restoration of full limb function, return of strength and coordination, pain reduction, and confidence returning to normal activity.
